Golden Goose to promote Vietnamese UK festival
A Vietnamese newspaper has hired Golden Goose PR to support a large-scale celebration of Vietnam’s culture in London.
National daily paper Thanh Nien has brought in the publicity firm to drum up interest in next month’s Charming Vietnam Gala, which will include a concert at Westminster City Hall and a cultural festival. Platinum-selling Asian pop stars and Eastern beauty pageant winners have also been invited to participate.
Golden Goose co-founder Miki Watson described the festival as ‘Olympic scale’. The agency has secured the involvement of UK Theatreland ‘supergroup’ Teatro, who will join Vietnamese sopranos on stage.
The event coincides with the 21st anniversary of the end of Doi Moi, Vietnam’s glasnost, and will see Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung make his first official UK state visit in 15 years. The Doi Moi reforms saw Vietnam’s ruling Communist party encourage free-market enterprises for the first time.

Teatro get ready for debut release

New boyband Teatro are preparing to unleash their debut album.
The self-titled record features the backing of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with stellar arrangements of classic West End and Broadway favourites.
The album includes songs such as Maria from West Side Story, Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from Evita, I Dream a Dream from Les Miserables and Luck Be A Lady Tonight from Guys and Dolls.
Singer Simon Bailey said: “The thing with our sound is that is that its more poppy than that classical opera sound.
“We really take the songs from the shows out of the shows to make them individual stand out tracks.”
Teatro’s debut album is out on Monday.
